Slater’s 50/50® was founded in 2009 in Anaheim Hills, California by Scott Slater, a San Diego State graduate with a passion for gourmet comfort food and craft beer. Teaming up with Executive Chef Brad Lyons, they created the world’s first 50/50 burger – 50 percent ground bacon and 50 percent ground beef – taking the Southern California restaurant scene by storm. In 2011, the second Slater’s 50/50 opened in Huntington Beach followed quickly by the San Diego location. Since opening, Slater’s 50/50 has won a number of awards and accolades including “Best Burger” by The Orange County Register, OC Weekly and FOX 5 San Diego as well as Best New Restaurant by San Diego Magazine. Slater’s 50/50 has also been featured on national television shows including the Travel Channel’s Bacon Paradise and Discovery Channel’s United States of Bacon.

I have to say I was remarkably unimpressed. I asked for my Burger medium and my dining partner asked for it medium rare. We both got well done, not so much as a hint of pink anywhere. Pretty sad when a Burger place can't even cook a Burger right. The onion rings were good though...

This is a good hamburgers / sports bar. The food is fresh and the service is excellent. They also have a great selection of spirits and beer.

Tried it and I liked it. Burgers are pretty good and a good loud place to meet up friends to watch a game.

Thank you, Daniel. I obviously should have read their website first. Even if I had done so I probably would have posed my question anyway to double check.

No louder the usual ... It is a bar

If you want to avoid a long wait time for seating a large party then go on a Sunday around evening time. It's not busy or crowded at that time.

It's definitely not a cheap place, but quality and service certainly make up for the price. Beverages certainly add to the price as well, but if on a budget, just ordering water should be fine. Their burgers probably range from $15-20, but you definitely get what you pay for.
